Ready for a movie night? There is now a dedicated Youtube channel celebrating the life and work of Robert S. Neuman!

The documentary film Pieces of the World: The Art and Life of Robert S. Neuman is now available to watch. The film gathers in-person interviews with scholars, family, and friends, archival and personal photographs, and images of numerous artworks to create an intimate and compelling portrait of the artist. Watch the full film here.

Robert S. Neuman’s interview with legendary Boston television presenter Smoki Bacon is also available. In 2004 Smoki interviewed Neuman on the Smoki Bacon and Dick Concannon Show to discuss his retrospective at the John Raimondi Gallery. The wide-ranging, animated conversation sees the pair discuss the fusion of European expressionism and American West Coast abstraction in Neuman’s work, his time studying under Willi Baumeister on a Fulbright Scholarship in post-war Germany and Max Beckman at Mills College, and the creation of some of Neuman’s most recent works.
